Monadnock Indoor Tennis Club is especially proud to have had the special opportunity to help raise funds for the Antrim Girls Shelter last October though our hosting of a Benefit Tennis Tournament. The new kitchen is a marvelous transformation from "old" to "spiffy new", as seen by MITC's Linda Greenwood at their recent Open House. Our own Barry Echavarria orchestrated the event.
The following is a "Thank you" note from the Director:
"Thanks to all of you, the girls who come to the shelter have a
beautiful kitchen and dining room. It has been transformed from an
uninviting, falling apart, and inefficient space into a beautiful,
shining and welcoming space. Because of all of your generous donations
the girls are able to enjoy a more nurturing environment, and the staff
is able to more efficiently prepare meals. I think the transformation
is akin to the transformation that we see in our girls. The girls
arrive looking and feeling pretty beat up by the world, and by the time
they leave they are looking and feeling beautiful!
I’d like to take the time to say a few special thank you’s. Barry
and Melissa Echavarria initiated the First Annual Antrim Girls Shelter
Tennis fundraiser. It was successful beyond our wildest dreams- and all
thanks goes to both of them for their many efforts in putting it
together! The event took place last fall at Monadnock Indoor Tennis
Club in Peterborough.
Thank you, everyone for your support in making this possible! We
are so very grateful!!"
